A Special Timezone and Stranger Things

When you think of your favorite series, it feels like it is going to be something old, something from your past. But Stranger Things is a game changer, and the reason is pretty simple; it is something from old brought back to our age; to the ones who were wishing to live in the magic of 80’s entertainment. I remember the very first time I have watched Star Wars, and the day I have watched Back to the Future, and the day of Jurassic Park, everything. It is no surprise Spielberg is most of the worlds favorite; because he brought back magic long forgotten, came to awaken the child.

And for someone who is living in an age of virtual, unreal magic; in the era of so called “communication” seeing once upon a time things were different, seeing that people used to talk and play the worlds most complex game only ruled by imagination, seeing the movies that were made without the new ways of artificial magic, seeing that a person is able to bring imagination alive even when it was thought to be impossible, seeing that someone is able to do a movie takes place in galaxies far far away…

I was not born or lived in 80’s, so this is not nostalgia, this is me finding the magical timezone in this reality; the time that I would’ve wanted to run away to. And this is even better than finding neverland* or wonderland because there was really a time people wanted to see the wonders of this reality and put a light on it. The rest is clear actually, Stranger Things has every bit of magic I’ve been wanting to see on the screen, it gives me everything I would want, darkness, mystery, clever storyline, amazing characters (surprisingly; both grown ups and the children) and of course the timezone I wish to run away to. And how precious this series is for me? I haven’t even watched season 2, I guess I am saving it for the rainy days, for a moment that I might again need to escape, need to forget, need to run away..
